About Region of Southern Denmark

The Region of Southern Denmark is responsible for the ‘Regional Growth and Development Strategy’. The strategy sets out the goals for the regional development in the field of infrastructure, education, health, climate and the environment.



The business development strategy and action plan are set up by the Regional Growth Forum. The strategy addresses the business development within four specific business areas, being Sustainable Energy, Health and Social Care Innovation, Robotics and Experience Economy. It also includes a number of broad scope initiatives, such as qualified work force, automation and digtalisation to address present and future challenges.

The Regional Growth Forum consists of representatives from organisations of enterprises, employers’ and employees’ organisations, educational institutions, university and representatives from regional and local authorities.

The Growth Forum sets up the Strategy and Action Plan, recommends co-financing for business development activities and monitors regional and local conditions for growth.
